October 20, 2022: -Over 300 U.S. buyers have put down deposits for Rolls-Royce’s first electric vehicle before it’s revealed on Tuesday, the extra automaker’s CEO told. On Tuesday, Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Muller-Otvos said that the buyers visited the company’s office in Goodwood, England, more than the past two weeks to get a sneak peek at the Spectre, which was publicly revealed and comes with a beginning price tag of $413,000.
The two-door coupe, more agile than a typical Rolls, has a variety of about 320 miles and can go from 0-60 miles for each hour in 4.4 seconds. Rolls-Royce displays that its entire product line will be completely electric by 2030.
Muller-Otvos counted that the buyers put down deposits before they even experienced the car.
“Once they have seen it here, they are satisfied,” he added. “The order book looks strong.”
The car is the most expensive EV coupe on the call and says a new category of what Rolls says is an “Ultra-Luxury Electric Super Coupé.” Meanwhile, General Motors unveiled its Celestiq electric vehicle this week, which starts at over $300,000.
Muller-Otvos said the button to EVs stands natural for Rolls since its cars are already famous for their smooth, quiet rides and short power.
“It has to be a Rolls-Royce first,” Muller-Otvos states. “That means stability, competent quality, timeless materials, flight-on-land, silent propulsion. It has all these genes Rolls-Royce is famous for,” he added.
Muller-Otvos refused to provide specific sales targets or aims for the Spectre. In 2021, Rolls-Royce had a record year in sales and production, delivering 5,586 cars.
“In terms of proportion, I would say, Cullinan, our biggest SUV is one column. The coming column is the Ghost, our great limousine. And then the Spectre as the third queue,” he added.
Among the unique features of the Spectre is a made front grille with 22 LEDs, an endless aerodynamic “waft” line on the sides modeled following racing yachts, and a unique digital intelligence system called Spirit. Its famous “Spirit of Ecstasy” hood trim was also redesigned with a more modern look.
Other Rolls Royce models are equipping the popular “starlight headliner” with over 1,400 tiny stars that light up on the car roof in the dark. As a particular option, Spectre provides the “Illuminated Fascia” of more than 5,500 stars along the doorways and top.
“Spectre is the ideal product that Rolls Royce has made,” Muller-Otvos said.
