Post-Pandemic Situation and Healthcare Technology

The healthcare framework needs a major changeover post-pandemic to sustain the challenges and to follow all the social distancing norms. For contact, tracing surveillance is by far the easiest technique. The study of the distribution of pandemic in a confined area is a must and necessary to find a remedy. The examination kits that have hit the markets now to help in the immediate primary analysis. To make the entire process easier and faster the health care personnel is stationed in a defined infected area with the necessary examination kits for the prevalent diseases. A dedicated team continuously analyses the reported cases and releases the protocols and the guidelines. The health care personnel also examine the person in contact with the patient.

Before the pandemic visiting the hospital and getting the tests done was easier and safe. Now with the increasing number of cases door to door testing is the new normal. Along with the kits, there are also applications being developed. The app presents a set of questions that provides a detailed analysis of the kind of infection in patients. Further the application guides and directs the patients with the appointments and the hospital visit. This reduces the rush in the hospital and also zero down the unnecessary visit to the hospital.

Robotics has leaped in the field of healthcare. To avoid health care workers from direct contact with the infected blood and the mouth swabs the robots are used. The initial sampling is done by the robots so that the first round of testing is done. The report generation and analysis is then done by the health care personnel. Robotics also reduces the chances of human error. In the case of multiple cases being reported in a given locality, robots will help round the clock analysis of the sample without any break.

Telemedicine also helps treat the patients remotely. Geography is no more a limitation in treating any patient. Telecommunication along with the internet helps the diagnosis of the patient and for the prescription to be shared with the pharmacy directly. Though telemedicine was not majorly accepted considering the patient-doctor relationship, the pandemic has left no other option. From a doctor’s point of view, virtually the doctors are capable of treating more patients than in their regular clinic. Wearable technology is also suggested by doctors. Fitbit helps the patient track their blood pressure, heart rate, weight, and activity. The applications that assist the wearables collate the activity for the entire month and help the doctor analyze the patients easily.
