January 20, 2025: The United States has intensified its trade restrictions on Chinese technology companies, specifically targeting entities specializing in AI.
September 21, 2023: On Tuesday, Kraft recalled faulty American cheese singles that might be ‘unpleasant’ or make you gag after multiple customers reported a choking hazard.
As noted in a company press release, Kraft Heinz has faced criticism over a plastic film issue with its cheese slices. Some consumers found that the plastic film remained stuck to the cheese even after removing the wrapper, and in six instances, this led to choking or gagg
ing incidents. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries or health problems resulting from this issue.
Upon receiving these complaints, Kraft Heinz investigated and identified a manufacturing error in the machine responsible for packaging the cheese slices in plastic. This error occasionally caused a thin strip of plastic film to remain on the cheese, even after removing the packaging. The company has rectified this error and inspected other machines to ensure it doesn’t recur.
Kraft Heinz has advised customers with affected products not to consume them and to return the cheese slices to the store where they were purchased.
The recalled products are specifically the 16 oz. Kraft Singles American Pasteurized Prepared Cheese Product with an individual package UPC of “0 2100061526 1” and a “Best When Used By” date ranging from January 10, 2024, to January 27, 2024. Affected packages will display an “S” and “72” in the manufacturing code.
It’s worth noting that Kraft Heinz is not the only major company to encounter manufacturing errors this year.
Trader Joe’s faced an issue in July related to potential rock contamination in certain cookie products. Consumers are urged to exercise caution and heed product recalls issued by companies in such cases.
