Analysts stated that the twin strikes dealt Russia a huge reputational blow and raised questions about why its defences failed, as attention turned to the use of drones in the war amid neighbours.
Ukraine has never publicly claimed accountability for attacks in Russia but has said that such incidents are “karma” for Russia’s invasion.
The Russian defence ministry stated that aviation equipment was not damaged, but stated to unofficial Russian and Ukrainian social media reports; several planes were harmed.

Earlier on Monday, Roman Busargin stated that the governor of the Saratov region said that civil infrastructure facilities were not harmed in the incident.
“There is no threat to residents. Civil infrastructure facilities were not damaged,” Busargin stated.
