September 6, 2022: -On Saturday, NASA postponed its Artemis I moon mission again after making a second attempt to get the uncrewed launch off the ground.
The space agency works toward the debut of its Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and Orion capsule for what would be over a month-long journey all over the moon but is facing a hold of nearly several weeks.
As NASA filled the rocket on Saturday, the agency’s team detected a hydrogen fuel leak from the engine section. NASA made a few attempts to fix the leak, but time ticked away ahead of the launch window set to open at 2:17 p.m. ET.
On Monday, NASA is calling a few first launch attempts after it could not resolve a temperature problem with one of the rocket’s four liquid-fueled engines, with less than two hours to go in the countdown.
On Saturday, NASA said that it would not attempt another launch during the current period, which ends on Tuesday. The agency said it would need to roll the rocket back to the Vehicle Assembly Building at Kennedy Space Center in Florida before one more attempt.
The following available launch periods begin September 19 and October 17 and stay for around two weeks each.
